Trifasciatus Rainbowfish, or three banded rainbowfish, are found in small rivers and ponds and billabongs (there is that word again!) around Australia. The Banded Rainbowfish grows to nearly five inches and prefers a planted aquarium. These are active swimmers and also prefer to swim in schools which is a fantastic feature in a large freshwater aquarium. Colors vary depending upon food, water conditions, and presence of females (males always display their fins and colors better with ladies around).
